The European EV Charging Summit 2020

Date: 1st September 2020 - 2nd September 2020 Location: Rotterdam - The Netherlands

Following the success of last year’s event in London, ACI is delighted to announce the second edition of our European EV Charging Summit, due to take place in Rotterdam, the Netherlands on the 1st & 2nd September 2020.

The two day event will bring together key industry stakeholders from all facets of the EV Charging industry to discuss the required infrastructural innovations and the most profitable strategies for a cleaner and sustainable future.

As the electric vehicle market continues to expand, this is the best time to explore this blooming industry!

The conference will address the current challenges within the industry and how to overcome them. It aims to offer insight into the latest trends and developments in this growing market.

Over the two days, the event will draw together key experts across the whole EV industry value chain including DNOs, OEMs, CPOs, Power Suppliers, End Users, Financial Stakeholders, Car Sharing Businesses, Mobility Technology Providers, Governmental Officials and Regulators.

Join us in Rotterdam to hear a range of discussions and interactive panels regarding the upcoming opportunities for development and engage in excellent networking opportunities.

COVID-19

ACI is doing everything to ensure that all its events go ahead as advertised.  Like you, we are keen to get the meetings to happen and return to some form of normality.  We are constantly tracking WHO updates, local government regulations and talking to our attendees wherever possible.  Venues are chosen and procedures are adjusted in order to make the conferences possible.

But we do accept that these are exceptionally challenging times and the updates are very fast moving.  As such, it may help you to understand how and why we arrive at decisions on moving ahead with any current event:  One month before the meeting we again re-assess the situation specific to the individual summit, both local to the event and globally.  We then take a decision as to the viability of holding the meeting as if it were happening the very next day.  If it is possible to run on that basis, we will proceed.  If not, we will be forced to take the decision to postpone the event to a later and better date.

GreenCharge is a EU Horizon 2020 funded project. The GreenCharge mission is to realise sustainable mobility with innovative business models, technologies and guidelines for cost efficient and successful deployment and operation of charging infrastructure for EVs.

It seeks to demonstrate how technological solutions and associated business models can be integrated and deployed to overcome barriers to wide-scale adoption of EVs. The project takes important steps to achieving one of the dreams of a modern city: a zero-emission transport system based on electric vehicles running on green energy, with air pollution, traffic jams and parking problems things of the past. GreenCharge is devising and testing business models that encourage use of electric vehicles and sharing of energy resources, allowing all those involved to cooperate in an economically viable way.

These innovations are being tested in three pilots in Barcelona, Bremen and Oslo. Together, they cover a wide variety of factors: vehicle type (scooters, cars, e-bikes), ownership models (private, shared individual use), charging locations (private residences, workplaces, public spaces, transport hubs), energy management (using solar power, load balancing at one charging station or within a neighborhood, battery swapping), and charging support (booking, priority charging).

The German Federal Association for eMobility (Bundesverband eMobilität, BEM) promotes a shift in the way we view the concept of German mobility. Its long-term objective is to increase electric mobility and the use of renewable energy in order to bring society closer to a future that is less dependent on fossil fuels.

We see electro-mobility as a sustainable and multi-modal transport concept. To this end, we provide consulting services to companies in the eMobility industry and work to improve the institutional and regulatory framework. We build networks between political, economic and scientific stakeholders. We promote eMobility on the street by, amongst other things, campaigning for and contributing to necessary infrastructure adjustments. Within a changing society that is increasingly aware of its social and ecological responsibilities, the BEM creates fascination for electro-mobility on a daily basis, offering new electric vehicles to suit every personality.
